AERIAL YOGA INSTRUCTOR
Angela began dancing and doing acrobatics at the age of 3 in New England. After graduating in 2009 from Southern Connecticut State University with a B.A. in psychology she began training in aerial dance performing and teaching in the greater Bay Area and in Eugene, Oregon. In 2012 she became a certified yoga instructor proceeding to become a certified yoga therapist. Still teaching aerial dance classes she found herself adjusting exercises for students with injuries, naturally integrating the principles and practices of yoga into the aerial classes. She noticed that stiff joints opened further while suspended and that students consistently experience a greater sense of trust in their own bodies as well as a deeper ability to surrender than in traditional yoga. Over the years she has developed her own technique of fusing deep founded traditional yoga practices with the beneficial practice of playing with gravity.
The movements ignite the senses in a new and invigorating way as it literally turns students upside down. Not only is the class amazingly beneficial in terms of flexibility and strength building, but students love it simply because it’s fun and exciting! It’s a class that’s leaves students with a deep sense of ease and jubilance, restoring youthful movement and spirit.
